Quality Management

When it comes to something as intimate as fertility treatment, it’s important to offer patients not only the best care at the hands of the best experts, but also an assurance of overall quality.

Since the regulation of fertility clinics in Nigeria is not as strict as that of the fields of medicine in Nigeria, people who have the right equipment (or even if they don’t) could open a fertility clinic and claim the medical ability to help couples conceive. However, in many cases they may not have the requisite training but take advantage of desperate couples, offering misleading diagnoses and inappropriate treatment.

In 2004 The Bridge Clinic became the very first fertility clinic in Nigeria to introduce a quality management system to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our patients. Today we are still the only clinic in Nigeria to have such a system in place.

This has automatically put us at par with fertility clinics abroad (compare us), where it is impossible to provide fertility treatment unless you have the correct license and are able to prove with an annual audit that you provide quality services.

Who monitors The Bridge Clinic’s quality?

The Bridge Clinic operates under internationally monitored accreditation and our quality management system is certified and regulated by Quality Austria. This has also enabled us to work closely with and be affiliated to IVF Clinics Prof Zech, which is considered to be one of the most renowned IVF clinics in Europe.

Quality Austria system certificate

We have received the following accreditations:

  • 2010 – Successful audit and upgrade of The Bridge Clinic’s QMS
  • 2011 – Successful re-audit of The Bridge Clinic’s QMS
  • 2013 – Successful re-audit of The Bridge Clinic’s QMS

Bridge Clinic's

Climate control and continuous operations

Our flagship laboratory in Lagos is the most advanced of its kind in Nigeria and all our clinics maintain international standards of clinical quality. The environment is closely monitored to eliminate all volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as dust that could have an effect on processes.

This is achieved in various ways, from sealing off all windows to installing special air conditioning systems and labelling test tubes and dishes with non-toxic, embryo friendly permanent markers.

All equipment and surfaces are also kept at a consistent temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, mimicking human body temperature.

Due to the prevalence of power cuts in Nigeria, we have generators and other emergency measures in place to maintain the delicate and unique climate in our laboratories.

Bridge Clinic's Medical Staff

The Best Medical Staff Around

The Bridge Clinic is dedicated to recruiting only the best personnel and committed to ensuring that we stay on top of developments through on-going training and investment in equipment.

Our team is made up of qualified and experienced doctors, fertility specialists, fertility nurses and care partners. The team trains in Europe every year, or our international partner fertility specialists come to Nigeria to provide training on the latest fertility techniques.

All embryologists are trained in-house, on the job, covering a full cycle of procedures under the guidance of our specialists. Training takes 18 to 24 months, and once completed each embryologist is fully qualified.
