The HFEA mandates that independent counseling services be available to all clients attending the clinic to assist with the difficult decisions the couples have to make during fertility treatment. The Bridge Clinic implemented independent free counseling services as one of our service offerings to all our clients since 2000.
Professional counseling services are offered freely to all couples undergoing treatment at The Bridge Clinic. We recommend that couples use this facility.
The Counselor's role is to assist the couple to explore and evaluate all the possible treatment alternatives, prepare for the treatment ahead and offer ongoing emotional support. In particular we urge all couples undergoing treatment using donor gametes, to receive counseling.
Counseling is not an assessment of the couple. All information and discussions are done in strict confidence. Appointment with the Counselor can be arranged through our appointment managers.
