The Bridge Clinic Ethics Committee was inaugurated in January 2001 on the advise of Mr. John Parsons of Kings College Hospital, London. There is no regulatory authority licensing IVF treatment in Nigeria. At The Bridge Clinic, we understand the importance of having such regulations and we made the policy early on to fulfil all the decisions of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority in the United Kingdom as a way of assuring the quality of services provided.
It is important that the services offered at The Bridge Clinic are provided within the religious, moral and ethical framework of our society in Nigeria and the membership of the committee is constructed to reflect this.

Current Membership of the Committee
Dr Myma Belo-Osagie Is the chairperson of the Ethics Committee. She holds a PHD in Law from Harvard University. She is a senior partner with the highly successful law firm of Udo Udoma & Belo Osagie. She brings to the committee her vast experience in law which provides a sound legal perspective on issues that the committee has to deliberate on.
Prof. Oladele Akinla Is a retired professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He had a distinguished professional career, retired as the Head of Department of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the University of Lagos, and has been an ex-president of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Nigeria (SOGON). He brings his vast experience on gynaecological matters to the deliberation of the committee.
Justice Okunnu Brings two aspects to the committee. She is a Lagos State High Court judge and brings a different legal perspective on issues. She is also a committed and practicing Muslim, and she is able to assist with the understanding of issues from a Muslim point of view.
Prof Lai Olurode Is a Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Lagos. He brings his vast experience on social viewpoint of the issues.
Mrs. Peju Adebajo Works in management and brings the views of an intelligent professional woman to balance deliberations at the committee.
The Reverend N N Ezedairo Was former finance director of the Nigerian Tobacco Company. He is now retired into the service of the Lord and works as the Vicar of St. John's Anglican Church, Ribadu Road, Ikoyi. He has just been invited to the committee to bring a Christian perspective to the issues and he replaces the late Reverend Canon Adenuga who had added a lot of value to the committee since inception.
Dr R A Ajayi Also attends the meetings to present the issues for discussion. He does not have any voting right so as not to influence the decisions of the committee.
