Quality Management is a planned activity that begins from identifying the need of the customer up to the stage of fulfilling the customers' requirements. This is further enhanced by adopting a standard which provides a platform for the realization of such services and ensures the continuous improvement of the processes.
This is the strategy of The Bridge Clinic, the first and leading assisted conception clinic in Nigeria. They adopted the standards of ISO 9001:2000 and the regulations of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) guidelines in their service realization and have leveraged on this to providing quality service to their esteemed customer. Although, HFEA is a regulatory body for assisted conception units in the United Kingdom (UK), The Bridge Clinic has adopted this code of practice as standard in the context of their clinical activities because they have identified a pertinent need for regulation despite the lack of regulatory body for controlling such activities in Nigeria. In April 2004, the clinic pioneered the incorporation of a Quality Management System, in West Africa, by obtaining an ISO 9001:2000 certification awarded by an independent external auditor, TUV, Austria.
Following the adoption of these standards, The Bridge Clinic has put into place policies, processes and procedures. There is also control system in realizing the delivery of its services in accordance with the planned arrangement.
However, the policies, processes and procedures are constantly being reviewed in line with 5 keys to continual improvement of an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System as depicted in the graphic below:
