Enquiry Enquiries Registration Preliminary Investigations Second Consultation Gyneacologist TBC Consent Forms Assessment Treatment Options

In this post, I will take you through the bridge clinic way from the first inquiry to the decision of assisted reproduction, subsequent articles will address the actual treatment process.

Enquiries and Registration
This is the first point of entry for all clients. You may walk in to make enquiries or make enquiries through the telephone, SMS or email. Your demographic data will be taken and an enquiry pack, which contains brief information about our services, will be given to you. Our client co-ordinators are specially trained to provide you with the necessary information regarding The Bridge Clinic’s services. They will take you smoothly through the enquiry stage and then make a booking for you to see one of the Gynaecologists to discuss matters further. Our Gynaecologists will fully explain and discuss the treatment options available to you. Only once you are fully informed and have decided to go ahead with treatment, will you be registered as a patient and commence with preliminary investigations. The results of these investigations will be discussed with you in the second consultation with the Gynaecologist. You will be guided through your treatment each step of the way by the client co-ordinators, counsellors and Gynaecologists.

Preliminary Investigations
The investigations assists in identifying the cause of infertility as well as defining the treatment most suitable for you.

Second Consultation
The Gynaecologist discusses t he results of the investigation with the couple. Whereupon the Gynaecologist will prescribe a suitable treatment plan for the couple or refer them for further investigation. It is critical that both partners attend the consultation as decision making is joint and consent is required to commence treatment.

Consent Forms
These are important documents, we recommend that you read them carefully before signing them at the start of the treatment cycle. If there is anything in the consent forms that you do not understand or disagree with, please discuss this with the doctor. Signing the consent forms does not commit you to anything and you may  subsequently change your mind. One copy of the consent form is for your records while another copy will be filed in your records at The Bridge Clinic .

Further Assessment
Some patients may require further assessment such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and examination under anaesthesia, myomectomy to remove fibroids or surgical sperm collection before treatment is scheduled. If any further investigations are required, your Gynaecologist will discuss the options with you fully.
After the assessment is complete, a decision will be made as to the best treatment option for you. Treatment options have been discussed in recent posts.
